Abstract: This paper describes shell-bearing deposits in the Co. Dublin area. The species (primarily molluscan) found indicate 'that the fauna has a distinctly northern facies, the arctic and northern shells constituting nearly one-fourth of the whole list (from Larch Hill), and pointing to a much colder climate that at present obtains in the Irish Sea area'.
