Abstract: This short note comments on articles published by Holt and Byrne concerning British and Irish gobies, on a young stage of the White Sole, and on the British and Irish Stromateidae, in the Report on the Sea and Inland Fisheries of Ireland for 1901. Two new Irish species of goby are recorded, as well as one new Irish stromateid species.
