Abstract: Three new records of the family Enchytracidae are noted. The lack of knowledge of Irish Oligochaeta is discussed. Of the three species new to Ireland, one is also new to science, Enchytraeus sabulosus; this and a further species, E. sabulosus, were from a littoral habitat. The specimens are described in taxonomic detail, with illustrative plates of E. sabulosus. The Irish distribution of this genus is also noted.
