Rubus ulmifolius

Description: Brambles are a complex group of species which in general are difficult for the non-specialist to name. Rubus ulmifolius is different in this respect in being quite easy to recognise with its almost white undersides to the leaf and its deep pink or lilac petals. It occurs in warm, sunny situations and is particularly common near the coast. It hybridises fairly frequently with other bramble species.

All names: Rubus ulmifolius Schott.Schott; Rubus inermis sensu Beek et auct., non Pourret
