Sanguisorba officinalis

Description: This is one of Northern Ireland's rarest species of flowering plants, now confined to two sites, one near Donaghadee and one near Carnlough. It is a meadow or pasture species which has declined to an alarming degree because of destruction of the traditional meadow as a habitat and loss of farmland to housing estates.

All names: Sanguisorba officinalis L.; Poterium officinale (L.) A.Gray

Distribution Map from NBN: Sanguisorba officinalis at National Biodiversity Network mapping facility, data for UK.
