Description: Creeping cinquefoil (Potentilla reptans) hybridizes with both trailing tormentil (Potentilla anglica) and tormentil (P. erecta) but the two resultant hybrids are almost impossible to tell apart. Both are sterile, setting little or no viable seed. The hybrids have been recorded only rarely, possibly because they can be easily mistaken for one of the parent species.
