Description: This buttercup is generally rather small, occurs in short, dry grassland and has a bulb-like swelling to the base of the stem and radical leaves. It is usually easily identified when in flower by being the only buttercup with sharply turned-down sepals. The leaves have three principal leaflets.
It is common in Northern Ireland, especially on lime-rich soils. It is also characteristic of sand dunes.
