Description: This attractive plant is actually a member of the same family as the buttercups, but the flowers are more highly developed and shaped like the hood of a monk's habit. It is an introduction in Northern Ireland and a popular cottage-garden plant. In the wild it is mainly encountered as a casual on waste ground or on rubbish dumps.
